Auto On/Off LED Headlights

For the new model year, all versions of the Crosstrek now feature standard Steering Responsive LED Headlights (SRH) with automatic High Beam Assist (HBA). The LED technology provides an enhanced illumination pattern for better visibility, while the SRH and HBA features ensure the beams are always as bright and precise as possible. These headlights automatically turn on under low-light conditions and switch off when the ignition is switched off.

Dual 7-inch Infotainment System

On the all-new Crosstrek Convenience trim level, this AM/FM/MP3/WMA infotainment system features two 7-inch high-resolution touchscreens. This infotainment system features Bluetooth^® mobile phone connectivity and streaming audio, a USB-A control port, auxiliary audio input and steering wheel integrated controls. The system is also Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^TM compatible, offers various apps comes equipped with four speakers and it is also SiriusXM^® capable^‡.

11.6-inch Infotainment System

Available on the Touring and Onyx trim levels, this dynamic AM/FM/MP3/WMA infotainment system focuses attention on an 11.6-inch, high-resolution, multi-gesture capacitive touchscreen that functions like a smartphone or tablet. The system features Bluetooth^® mobile phone connectivity and streaming audio, a single USB-A and single USB-C control port, auxiliary audio input, steering wheel integrated controls and six speakers. The system also features wireless Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^TM connectivity, and it is SiriusXM^® capable^‡. Another free trial worth noting is SUBARU STARLINK^® Connected Services^†—a suite of safety, security and convenience services—which is included in the first three years of ownership.

The smart way to go on big adventures is to ensure you stay connected even when far from home—and the all-new Crosstrek has you covered. On all Touring trim level models and above, there’s a single USB-A and a single USB-C port for front-seat passengers, allowing you to play music and recharge devices at the same time. For all back-seat drivers, there’s a single USB-A and a single USB-C port in the back of the centre console. There’s also an available wireless phone charger for the same centre console.

Versatile Cargo Area

Although the Crosstrek is classified as a subcompact SUV, it’s got a cargo area that’s big on useable space and versatility. The cargo area features a low lift-over height, wide liftgate opening for easy access and 60/40-split flat-folding rear seats, all of which help you load, unload and accommodate larger items such as bicycles. Standard features on all models include cargo hooks, tie-downs and roof rails; available features include a cargo cover for added security and a cargo area light for increased visibility.

Ergonomically Designed Seats

The all-new Crosstrek features new seats that are specifically designed to boost support and lower fatigue. The standard front seats offer additional support around the hips, sides and lumbar area, and feature a larger number of seams to accommodate a greater variety of body types. Convenience trim level seats are covered in grey cloth, while the Touring trim level receives premium black cloth. The new Onyx trim level sports premium grey cloth with contrast stitching and the Limited models feature black leather material. Both the Onyx and Limited trim levels have a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with two-way lumbar support for increased comfort.

Next-generation technologies used in the EyeSight^®◊ system, the Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection system and ABS represent the critical first line of defence—and the best way to avoid a potential accident in the first place.

EyeSight^® Driver Assist Technology

The latest version of the award-winning Subaru EyeSight^® Driver Assist Technology is standard on all versions of the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. This generation incorporates new cameras with a wider field of view to better monitor activity on the road ahead, help identify potentially dangerous situations and provide assistance to the driver when needed most. The system also features the new wide-angle mono camera, which dramatically boosts the effectiveness of the system. EyeSight incorporates several advanced active-safety systems: Pre-collision Braking, Pre-collision Brake Assist, Pre-collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centring Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Sway Warning, Lane Keep Assist and Lead Vehicle Start Alert. On the Touring trim level and above, Emergency Automatic Steering, which helps you avoid a collision by providing automatic steering and pre-collision braking assistance, is also included.

High Beam Assist

Standard on all trim levels, High Beam Assist takes the task of switching from high beams to low and back again out of the drivers’ hands, leaving them free to concentrate on the road ahead. The HBA system automatically switches from high beams to low when traffic is approaching or when catching up to another vehicle in the road ahead. When traffic clears, the high beams switch back on to ensure optimum illumination at all times.

Reverse Automatic Braking

Available on the Onyx and Limited trim levels, Reverse Automatic Braking uses proximity sensors to warn the driver when the system detects obstacles behind the vehicle. This system can also apply the brakes automatically if it detects that a collision is imminent and the driver doesn’t respond quickly enough.

DriverFocus^® Driver Monitoring System (DMS)

Available on the Limited trim level, this award-winning system utilizes a camera angled at the driver’s face and facial recognition software to monitor driver fatigue or lack of attention. When the driver shows signs of losing focus, the system sends out a helpful alert. The DriverFocus^® system stores the personal preferences for up to five drivers, including the position of the seats and side mirrors, climate control settings and gauge readouts on the multi-function display.

Rearview Camera

Standard on all trim levels, the rearview camera is positioned close to the centre of the rear hatch to capture a wide, natural, distortion-free image that appears on the centre console screen. The projected image also features dynamic guidelines that show where the vehicle is headed to help the driver when reversing. The camera lens is fitted with a hydrophilic coating to help clear water, dirt or grime, improving visibility and taking safety to new heights.

Steering Responsive HeadLights

These advanced LED headlights are now standard on all new Crosstrek models. When the vehicle turns a corner, the headlights automatically turn in the same direction, providing an added measure of safety. The headlights also incorporate the latest LED technology, creating better visibility by generating a brighter and whiter light.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

The high-performance braking system on the Crosstrek features high-quality brake pads and calipers, as well as a short pedal stroke, to ensure quick and confidence-inspiring response. The ABS includes many critical safety advances, including Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and Brake Override. The system also includes Hill Start Assist, which prevents rollback when starting out on steep inclines.

Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) + Active Torque Vectoring

All versions of the new Crosstrek feature VDC^  and Active Torque Vectoring as standard equipment. VDC utilizes sensors to monitor and analyze if the vehicle is following the driver’s intended course. When approaching the limits of stability, VDC automatically adjusts the engine output, braking force at each wheel and torque distribution of the AWD system to keep the vehicle on-course. Active Torque Vectoring applies braking force to the inside front wheel and distributes more engine torque to the outside front wheel in corners, bringing added cornering capability into sharp focus. These systems create the feeling of added security and increased confidence under all possible scenarios.

Secures peace of mind

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is built on a strengthened version of the Subaru Global Platform that creates more protection than ever before. In the event that an accident proves unavoidable, this subcompact crossover rushes to the defence through the extensive use of high-strength material combined with the latest technological advances. These measures work to minimize collision damage, reduce the chance of injury and deliver class-leading levels of safety. Other safety features, such as the standard auto door lock/unlock and rear seat reminder also generate greater peace of mind.

Advanced Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame

This advanced frame design is noted as being one of the more robust in the business. The design is effectively a single safety cell created by connecting the roof to the side pillars and the side pillars to the floor. This design dissipates impact energy and diverts it away from the passenger compartment, while a specially designed crumple zone provides further protection in the event of a frontal impact. Overall, this design absorbs 40% more impact energy than previous versions of the Crosstrek by incorporating ultra-strong rear door beams, additional reinforcements and tougher joint structures.

Injury-reducing Seats and Seatbelt Systems

The fully revised front seats are not only engineered to provide superior support, they’re also strengthened to offer more protection. The seats feature frames, energy-absorbing mountings and active headrests designed to reduce the chance of whiplash. Height-adjustable front seatbelts with shoulder pretensioners hold passengers firmly in place, while the locking tongue strengthens the seatbelts and load limiters ease peak forces to the chest. In the rear seat, the ISO-FIX/LATCH system features a lower anchor bar positioned for easy use, helping secure younger passengers riding in compatible child safety seats.

Airbags

A full complement of supplemental restraints engineered to better protect occupants in the event of a collision is standard on every trim level. This all-encompassing system of protection includes dual-stage deployment front airbags, a driver knee airbag, front passenger seat cushion airbag, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags for front and rear outboard occupants.

Break-away Engine

In utilizing the Subaru Global Platform, the SUBARU BOXER^® engine sits lower in the vehicle than before, which leads to even higher levels of safety. In the event of a head-on collision, the engine and transmission are designed to absorb impact, then break away from the vehicle structure and drop below the passenger cabin for added protection.

Lineartronic^® CVT + Symmetrical AWD

All versions of the Crosstrek come standard with a Lineartronic^® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a technologically advanced transmission that incorporates lightweight materials, a wide range of gear ratios and Auto Stepped Speed Control, which triggers shifts like a traditional automatic transmission. These features combine to create superior response, driveability, quietness and fuel efficiency. The CVT is linked to a multi-plate transfer clutch version of Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD that offers predictable handling and shifts torque to the rear wheels under hard acceleration or in low-traction conditions. All versions of the CVT come equipped with Hill Start Assist, while some trim levels also feature paddle shifters and an 8-speed manual mode.

X-MODE^®

The Convenience and Touring trim levels of the new Crosstrek are equipped with standard X-MODE^®, which makes it easier to tackle trickier driving conditions. With the push of a button, the system assumes control of the engine, transmission, AWD system, brakes and other critical components to help the driver navigate obstacles such as steep inclines with greater confidence and increased safety. The Onyx and Limited trim levels come equipped with dual-function version of X-MODE^®, which lets the driver select either the snow/dirt setting or a deep snow/mud setting to gain even more control over the conditions.

Hill Descent Control

When either version of the X-MODE^® system is activated, Hill Descent Control automatically maintains a constant speed when driving down steep declines. With this feature, the driver can focus exclusively on navigating the road ahead, confident that all the braking and speed control requirements are covered.

Stronger chassis, increased responsiveness

The all-new Crosstrek rides on a lightweight, ultra-rigid chassis that helps create a smooth ride and unsurpassed capability over rough roads. This adventure-ready performer features a tight turning circle, low centre of gravity, wide track and long-travel fully independent suspension system, all of which make both cross-town and cross-country drives equally appealing. Drivers will appreciate the precise steering, superior handling and supreme comfort of this popular subcompact SUV, which has many of the benefits of driving a much larger vehicle without the footprint.

Subaru Global Platform

The all-new Crosstrek is built on a revised version of Subaru Global Platform that absorbs approximately 40% more crash energy than the pre-SGP generation of Crosstrek. The design utilizes high-tensile material throughout, a strengthened structure at the sides and back, and reinforced joints to create an incredibly robust and uniform safety cell. This ultra-strong platform also reduces twisting forces on the frame, as well as vibration and resonance throughout the body, steering, floor and seats. The Subaru Global Platform, together with a low centre of gravity and the fully independent suspension system, also sets the stage for a highly responsive and precise driving experience with improved straight-line stability.

Front Suspension

The world-famous MacPherson^® strut-type front suspension system generates superior stability, response and driver feedback. For the Crosstrek, an additional k-shaped cross-member brace usually found on high-performance cars and other refinements further reduce lateral flex and vibration. In addition, when paired with the 220 mm of ground clearance, this suspension system also gives the Crosstrek excellent capability over rough roads, so it’s the perfect suspension design for adventures in and out of the city.

Rear Suspension

This double-wishbone rear suspension system is engineered to reduce noise and vibration, while increasing control and stability. A rear stabilizer bar is used to create a smooth ride and a truly stable feeling, especially in the corners. The stabilizer bar is mounted to the body instead of through rubber bushings, which helps slash body roll, creating an even more composed driving experience.
