Service FAQs

Where do we drop off our vehicles off-hours?
If you’re dropping off after hours, our rear service door has a drop-off box. Inside you’ll find envelopes. Fill one out with your information, place your key inside, and drop it in the box.
Do you install wiper blades?
We do, and we do not charge labour for wiper blade installation. To confirm the correct blade sizes for your Subaru, use: Wiper blade size guide.
Can you replace my key fob battery?
Yes. You don’t even need an appointment. Stop by and we’ll help you out.

What type of oil do you use?
We commonly use 0W-20 synthetic and 5W-30 synthetic, depending on the Subaru model and engine.

The correct spec can vary by model year and whether your Subaru is turbocharged, so we’ll confirm the right oil for your exact vehicle.
Do I need an appointment for small items like wipers or a key fob battery?
Not always. For quick items like a key fob battery, you can often stop by without an appointment. For anything diagnostic-related or maintenance services, booking ahead is the best way to keep your visit smooth.

Tires & Winter FAQs

Do you sell winter tires?
We do. Shop our selection here: Subaru tires in Ottawa.
When should I switch to winter tires in Ottawa?
A simple guideline is to switch once temperatures stay around 7°C or lower. Winter tires stay more flexible in cold weather and improve traction on snow and ice.
Do I need to replace all four tires on my Subaru (Symmetrical AWD)?
Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive works best when tire tread depth is closely matched across all four wheels. If one tire is significantly different, it can affect handling and put extra strain on drivetrain components.

If you’ve damaged one tire, we can measure tread depth and recommend the best next step for your exact situation.
Why is my tire pressure light on when the weather gets cold?
Tire pressure can drop naturally as temperatures fall. When it drops below the recommended level, your Subaru may trigger the warning light. If the light stays on after inflating to the correct PSI, we can inspect for slow leaks or sensor issues.

Subaru Tech & Ownership FAQs

New owner of an Outback: how do you turn EyeSight on?
In most Subaru models, EyeSight is on by default. If a specific EyeSight feature was turned off, it can usually be re-enabled through your vehicle settings or driver-assist controls (exact steps vary by model year).

If EyeSight shows as unavailable, it’s often temporary due to conditions like a fogged/dirty windshield, snow/ice buildup, heavy rain, or direct glare blocking the cameras.

Helpful overview: EyeSight technology guide.
I bought my Subaru Crosstrek Touring last summer and I’m not able to open my trunk with my keypad. Do I still have to press a button every time to open it?
In most cases, yes. The keypad/PIN feature is mainly used to unlock your Subaru. The rear hatch typically still requires you to press the rear gate release button to unlatch it.

If your Crosstrek has a power rear gate (varies by year/trim), you may be able to open it with the key fob or interior controls. If it’s a manual liftgate, you unlock it and then press the hatch release to open it.

If it’s not working as expected, we can confirm your trim features and settings quickly.
Is it possible to pre-order a Subaru Ascent?
Yes. To start, use our Build & Price tool: Build & Price.

If you want help choosing a trim, tell us what matters most (passenger space, cargo needs, winter driving, and daily commute).
Why does my Subaru struggle to start in cold weather?
Cold temperatures reduce battery performance and make engines work harder to start. If you’re noticing slow cranking or repeated boosts, a battery and charging system test is the quickest way to confirm what’s going on.
What should I do if a warning light comes on in my Subaru?
If a warning light is flashing, it’s best to stop and contact us for guidance. If it’s solid, your Subaru may still be drivable, but it’s smart to book a diagnostic soon so a small issue doesn’t become a bigger one.
