3 Things to Know About the New 2019 Subaru Forester
Making its way from the New York International Auto Show, the 2019 Subaru Forester is currently at Ogilvie Subaru. Offering a lot of novelty but still keeping the characteristics that have dictated its success so far, the Forester is a compact SUV to discover.
Here are three things to know about the new 2019 Subaru Forester, an SUV that offers space, comfort, driving pleasure and off-road capabilities.
1. It now offers a single engine
The previous Subaru Forester offered two engines including a four-cylinder turbo 2.0-liter. For 2019, Subaru simplified its offering with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. More powerful than the old 2.5-liter, it offers according to Subaru a perfect balance between performance and efficiency.
It is paired with a particularly efficient CVT continuously variable automatic transmission that ensures comfort and better fuel economy.
2. X-Mode
The 2019 Subaru Forester offers latest generation of the X-Mode system. This is ultimately a cruise control for off-road driving. In other words, it controls the brakes and accelerations in off-road driving which leaves the driver to take care of the steering.
X-Mode also offers a snow and mud mode that provides better stability and durability when driving in snow or mud (as its name suggests). The end result is that you get unmatched stability in all driving situations.
3. It’s more spacious than ever
The Subaru Forester has always been one of the most spacious SUVs in its class, but for 2019 it is still improving. The opening of the trunk is much wider which allows to transport imposing objects without difficulty. For example, the Forester can accommodate a golf bag length-wise without problems.
