Subaru’s all-new seven-passenger SUV was unveiled a few weeks ago at the New York International Auto Show, and if you're looking for a sport utility vehicle that's great for your family, you will want to take a look at it. Called the Subaru Ascent, it will offer the latest in safety and connectivity technologies and will be equipped with a new powerful and efficient turbocharged engine.

Subaru Ascent Concept: Subaru's new seven-passenger SUV

Subaru celebrated its 64th month of sales growth by unveiling the Subaru Ascent at the New York Auto Show on April 12th. The new Ascent is the replacement of the old Tribeca, a model that served as a benchmark for comfort and refinement. The Ascent will follow in its footsteps, but with more space and even more luxury.

A new three-row SUV, the Subaru Ascent features a massive, muscular silhouette that gives it an elegant yet luxurious look. There is no doubt that the Ascent will be able to turn heads on the road. The design of the Ascent is dubbed Dynamic x Solid, and the objective of the designers at Subaru was to give the new Ascent a typical SUV design. One look at the model presented in New York is enough to realize that the Subaru team has succeeded!

The Subaru Ascent Concept will be built on a new platform

The Subaru Ascent Concept is built on Subaru's global platform and has larger dimensions than the old Tribeca. This is good news for those who found the latter a little too small in terms of interior space.

Under the hood, the Subaru Ascent Concept will be powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that also benefits from direct injection. The objective of this engine is to offer high performance while reducing fuel consumption.

We do not yet know the exact specifications of the Subaru Ascent Concept, but several experts say it will produce nearly 300 horsepower with a similar amount of torque. Of course, the Subaru Ascent Concept will be equipped with Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive system.
