The all-new 2017 Subaru Impreza is about to hit the market, and it brings with it many changes that make it an even more interesting and unique car in its segment. Already the only compact sedan in its class to come standard with all-wheel drive out of the gate, the 2017 Subaru Impreza will be safer and built on a new global platform that will make it more comfortable as well as a lot more fun to drive.

The 2017 Subaru Impreza is improved in every way

Introduced at the New York Auto Show this year, the new 2017 Subaru Impreza will be built on a new global platform that will eventually become the starting point for all Subaru models introduced in the future. Like the current generation, the 2017 Subaru Impreza will continue to be offered in both sedan and 5-door hatchback models.

This new structure will offer even more structural strength and therefore even more safety for the driver and passengers while improving driving pleasure by ensuring better stability on a twisty road and on poor road surfaces. High-strength steel is used abundantly in the new platform, improving overall rigidity by about 70 percent compared to the current generation’s platform. Another interesting feature is that the suspensions have been revised to reduce body roll by 50 percent.

The Subaru global platform is designed to blend in perfectly with Subaru's technical specifications, such as the BOXER four-cylinder engine. The latter has been redesigned almost completely (80%) and now benefits from direct injection and more power (152 hp). A continuously variable automatic transmission will be offered, but the latter will be able to simulate gears (7) as if it were a traditional automatic transmission.

Of course, the 2017 Subaru Impreza comes standard one of the industry’s best all-wheel drive systems to provide the best handling and stability on a wet or icy road.

Improved safety for the 2017 Subaru Impreza

Thanks to its more rigid structure, the new 2017 Subaru Impreza will be safer and even more capable of protecting its occupants in the event of an accident. It will also be possible to equip the 2017 Impreza with a host of active safety technologies grouped in the EyeSight package which will be offered on the Sport and Sport-tech versions.

The EyeSight system includes automatic braking technologies that detect other vehicles, but also pedestrians and obstacles behind the vehicle when reverse is activated, a lane change warning and prevention system, and an adaptive cruise control. Ultimately, the 2017 Subaru Impreza will be able to prevent accidents, but also to protect you when an accident occurs.

All this combined with a new style will make the 2017 Subaru Impreza one of the most attractive compacts on the market. Come in today at Ogilvie Subaru today to learn more about the new Subaru lineup, including the 2017 Subaru Impreza!
