The thing about the Subaru Impreza is that it is the only compact sedan that offers all-wheel drive as standard, and in doing so it becomes one of the best cars you can buy on the market in Canada.

The 2015 Subaru Impreza has just been introduced, and along with what we already expect from a Subaru product, such as all-wheel drive, fun driving dynamics and a cozy interior, it also offers a slightly revised look, better fuel economy, and even more fun behind the wheel. The thing about the Subaru Impreza is that it is the only compact sedan that offers all-wheel drive as standard, and in doing so it becomes one of the best cars you can buy on the market in Canada.

Canadians know all about winter, and we also know that it is not fun to drive when the white stuff covers the road. That is not the case when one is behind the wheel of a Subaru. When driving in deep snow or trying to get up an icy hill, the Subaru just goes with no drama and no issues. If you have never driven an AWD in winter, you absolutely need to give it a try. Better yet, the 2015 Subaru Impreza does not require more gas than a FWD compact vehicle anymore, and fuel-efficiency is now comparable to other vehicles in the same class.

There are two versions of the 2015 Subaru Impreza, the four-door sedan or the five-door hatchback. The first does offer good interior space for a compact, but those who need to haul more cargo in the back will want to opt for the hatchback. The rear seats also fold flat for even more versatility. Inside, the 2015 Subaru Impreza offers a no-frills interior that just works. It’s easy to figure everything out in the Impreza and locate the controls, and we like that the quality of the materials is always above average. The seats are comfortable and keep you well in place, making long drives a painless experience.

On the road, the Subaru Impreza is a hoot to drive with its on-point handling, well-calibrated suspension, and overall lively personality. Under the hood, buyers get a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine good for 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. When on the highway, passing is a breeze and the power available under the driver’s right foot is sufficient to put anyone behind the wheel at ease. A continuously variable transmission is offered, and it proves to be quite smooth and forgettable. The latter is a good thing with a CVT as these transmissions tend to annoy on many other models. A five-speed manual transmission is also offered.

In terms of security, the 2015 Subaru Impreza received a Top Safety Pick + designation from the IIHS, the highest safety rating a vehicle can receive. Fun to drive, safe, great in winter, and fuel-efficient, the 2015 Subaru Impreza is worth a test drive today!
